Welcome to my web site; my name is Terry Williamson I am 50 years old and live in the south end of the Shetland mainland.
This site has been set up to track my progress on a Sponsored Walk around the Coast of Shetland.

While being off work with depression I started to think of ways to relax, get fit and prepare to get back to work. I have always enjoyed walking around Shetland’s coast and an idea started to form about how I could do some walking and at the same time raise some money for a charity.
So that is why I have decided to walk around the entire coast of the Mainland of Shetland and all the Permanently Inhabited Islands, I have calculated this to be in the region of 850 - 900 miles. While doing this I hope to raise some funds for a charity called ‘Mind your Head’ you will find a link to their web site on my Links page so check it out and see some of the good work they do.
The walk started on Saturday 29 May 2010. I really don’t know how long it will take but I hope to complete it over the next few months. Check my Accompany Me page for more details on when and where I will be walking. I will update the site regularly as the walk progresses.

Site Visitors
I am aware that lots of people have walked the Shetland coast before but I don’t know who or how many; I would be very interested to hear from them or any one who has information on current or previous walkers.
